About
About me
I'm Chris McInerney, a designer specialising in UX/UI and brand identity based in Ormskirk, UK. I started in print and graphic design in the early 1990s and adapted as the industry moved from print to screen. That path took me from founding my own agency to more recently leading design and UX for digital publishing and media companies.
My design thinking is largely inspired by Swiss modernism. Clean typography, solid grids, nothing that doesn't earn its place. But I'm not rigid about it. Good design has personality, and the best work comes from balancing precision with character.
I'm still very much a maker. I design, prototype and build, and I care about the details that most people don't notice, but everyone feels. I work well in lean teams; I'm used to covering a lot of ground beyond just pushing pixels, and I'm at my best when I can take ownership of the whole design journey, from discovery through to delivery.
I'm now working independently as Boston Made, a brand and digital design studio. I work directly with clients and handle everything from identity and design through to build and ongoing support. If you're looking for help with brand identity, web design or ongoing support, I'd love to hear from you.
